This Privacy Policy explains how Michał Jarosz ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Moody application and our website at moody.mjarosz.com.

What Data We Collect

We collect the following personal data:

• Email address — when you sign up for the free trial via our website form. The trial version is hosted on AWS (EU North, Stockholm)
• Payment information — processed securely by our payment provider (Payhip) when you purchase Moody
• Usage analytics — anonymous website usage data via Google Analytics 4 (only with your consent)

Important: Your notes and scripts are stored locally on your computer. We do not process, analyze, or transmit the content you type or speak into the microphone. From version 1.5 the app sends optional, anonymous usage statistics described in the section below. They contain no content and no identifying data, and can be turned off in the app's settings.

Application Usage Analytics (from version 1.5)

Starting with version 1.5, the Moody app collects anonymous usage statistics to help us understand which features are used and whether updates work correctly.

What is collected:

• Feature usage events, for example starting or stopping the prompter, creating, importing or exporting a note, opening search, opening settings, and installing an update
• App version, build number, and macOS version
• A random installation identifier generated on your device. It is not linked to your name, email, purchase, or any account
• Approximate location (city level) derived from the IP address of the request

What is never collected:

• The content of your notes and scripts, note titles, or file names
• Anything you type into search
• Microphone audio, which is processed on your device and never transmitted
• Your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information

Analytics data is processed by Mixpanel Inc. acting as our processor and is stored on servers located in the European Union. We use this data only to improve Moody. It is not used for advertising and is never sold or shared. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in understanding how the app is used and in keeping it reliable (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

You can turn analytics off at any time in the app under Settings > General > Privacy by disabling "Share anonymous usage data". The setting takes effect immediately and does not change how the app works.

How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

• To deliver the trial version — your email is processed by Mailchimp to send you the download link for the free trial
• To send marketing communications — only if you explicitly opt-in, we may send occasional emails about updates, new features, and promotions via Mailchimp
• To process purchases — fulfilling your order and providing customer support
• To improve our website — analyzing anonymous usage patterns (with your consent)

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data based on:

• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — for marketing communications and analytics cookies
• Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — to deliver the trial version and process purchases
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — for basic website functionality and security, and for anonymous app usage analytics (from version 1.5)

Data Sharing

We share your data with the following third-party service providers:

• Mailchimp (Intuit) — email delivery and marketing. Mailchimp is GDPR compliant and processes data in accordance with EU data protection standards. See Mailchimp's Privacy Policy
• Payhip — payment processing. Payhip handles all payment information securely. We do not store credit card data
• Google Analytics 4 — website analytics with IP anonymization (only with your consent)
• Meta (Facebook Pixel) — advertising analytics and conversion tracking (only with your consent)
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — file hosting for trial downloads (EU North, Stockholm for GDPR compliance)
• Mixpanel Inc. — anonymous app usage analytics from version 1.5, stored in the European Union; can be disabled in the app's settings

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above:

• Email for trial download — until you unsubscribe or request deletion
• Marketing subscribers — until you withdraw consent
• Purchase records — as required by tax and accounting laws (typically 5-7 years)
